Whale Tail ***SOLD***
The Humpback Whale is believed in Hawaiian culture to be an animal form of the Hawaiian ocean god Kanaloa. The beaches where whale bodies washed up were held as sacred grounds by the chiefs and priests. Each winter the Humpback whales migrate the long journey to Hawaii to sing their mating songs. Male humpbacks sing complex songs with many tones to attract a mate. Each year the males create a new song to sing which can be heard up to 20 miles away. In Native American culture, those who have the whale as their animal totem were in touch with the true nature of reality and the exhale through the blowhole represented the release of new creativity.
