Collage - 6x6x1.5 inches with black frame - Whale tails is inspired by a mamma and baby whale I saw in Alaska this summer. I find it fascinating that whales can navigate the world while swimming through a blue nothingness with senses I only wish I could perceive. We heard their songs through a microphone that was plunged underwater and were told the Native Indian tribes of Alaska saw the Whale totem as a sign of strength change. Meaning a time to depressurize, come up for air and release what was holding you back, expressing a new spirit through the whale dance.
