RAW is a young community of natural born artists and an independent arts organization, for artists, by artists. They are an international community with a mission to provide independent artists, within the first 10 years of their career, with the tools, resources and exposure needed to inspire and cultivate creativity.

They welcome all genres of art including independent film, fashion, music, visual art, performing art, hairstylists, makeup artists and more. RAW encourages the creative success of the many visionaries and storytellers of our generation and currently operates in nearly 60 cities across the United States, Australia, Canada and, now London!

I wish I had this experience when I was just starting to show my work and I would definitely recommend this to new artists. Not only does it give you tools to move forward but it's affordable, you network with artists, they provide all the equipment you need and you have experienced guides with your success in mind. It's also a very modern way to show your art that I have never experienced and it is a really fun event!

The two brothers are off to Hong Kong this week to live with their new family! I know they will love traveling as much as I do! 

As August comes to an end I'd like to say how amazing it was to be a part of the calendar for Pinups for Pitbulls. This national organization is all about fighting breed discrimination and finding homes for lovable pitbulls all over the country. 

The discrimination is not only about giving the stink eye to the breed when walking down the street - It's that your homeowners insurance could drop you on the spot if the word pitbull appears anywhere on your inspection and that if a perfectly healthy, happy pit bull comes into certain shelters, it could cause immediate euthanasia no matter what the dog's temperament. And the assumption that pits have the highest records of biting humans when in reality it's golden retrievers. My boyfriend has been an animal cop in Philadelphia and helped take down one of the largest pit bull fighting rings in the city. They saved many dogs and rehabilitated many of them. The reason they use pitbulls for fighting is because they are extremely loyal to humans so neither dog will bite you when you put your hand in the ring to stop the fight. All dogs have the capability of being dangerous, the same as people have the ability to be rapists and murderers. Right now they are putting down some amazingly lovable dogs and not even giving them a chance to find a loving home because of breed discrimination. We are at the forefront of human rights in America and people like Deirdre Franklin, the founder of Pinups for Pitbulls, are bringing awareness to the barbaric ways we still treat our animals. It's really important to support this cause and raise awareness because these discriminatory laws could deter or punish people for owning pits or worse, never even being given the chance to meet pit meant to be in their family because they were euthanized without option for adoption. 

The pup in the photo with me is named Romeo and he is the ONLY adoptable dog in the calendar! He is so sweet and happy, enjoying long walks on the beach, snuggles, kisses and traveling the world in search of bad guys with pin ups. He was such a great model and so well behaved. He posed for the photo in no time flat and right now he is at Molly's Place Rescue in search for a forever home. He and his adorable best friend have been at the shelter for 7 years and they would love to be adopted together but it’s not imperative.
