About Me

My name is Blair Barbour. I am a collage and Batik artist.

Although these are my favorite mediums to show and exhibit - I enjoy making films, drawing blind contour portraits at cocktail parties, building paper mache whales, creating culinary dishes and writing.

Currently, the main themes in my work come from nature, my time living in the Caribbean, and revolve around some of my greatest influences from films and authors.

Some things about me: I love big earrings, drinking champagne on flights at any time of the day, don’t even get me started on sea turtles, staying at a themed Air BnB, traveling of course, and making my baby laugh.

When creating a piece of artwork my goal is always to evoke some sort of positive emotion, like joy, happiness, lightness or to bring a sense of humor to a space. I love artwork that sparks conversation and aim to achieve that in my work.

If you can find the humor in most situations, you will never be bored or offended, and you will probably have a lot more fun in life.
