I created this Bowie Ben not just for the obvious iconic lightning bolt that they both share fame for, but also for the symbolic meaning. In Jerry Hopkins' biography Bowie asserts that Bowie's U.S. tour the previous year had left him with mixed feeling of becoming a famous rockstar. Quote "wanting to be up on the stage performing my songs," he says, "but on the other hand not really wanting to be on those buses with all those strange people… So the album cover for Aladdin Sane (Which translates to A Lad Insane)was split down the middle." This form of "schizophrenia," as Bowie describes it, is represented by the lightning bolt, splitting his face in two.

As for Ben Franklin, who wrote a satirical essay letter to the Royal Academy of Brussels titled "Fart Proudly," which argued to make flatulence less offensive, offering that it is a matter of public health and quite impractical - we can assume that he too may have been A Lad Insane.

And as you can see here, Ben Franklin and I are buddies and he approves of this piece, but he owns a much bigger one.
